Atlanta Celebrates National Museum Day

We might be biased, but there are few cities better to visit than Atlanta during National Museum Day.

What’s that, you ask? You’re in for a treat! The Smithsonian started National Museum Day as an awareness and membership campaign aimed at boosting visitation and interest in metropolitan museums all over the country. Today, the holiday provides a way for all citizens to explore museums and cultural experiences free of charge.

National Museum Day takes place on September 21 this year, so mark your calendars! Most of the museums in Atlanta observe this holiday and will be opening their doors free of charge. To claim your free admission, all it takes is a simple visit to the National Museum Day website here where you can download tickets for up to two guests to any of the participating locations.

Speaking of museums and history, we’d love the chance to show you around and tell you all about the fascinating history of The Georgian Terrace during your next visit to Atlanta. Be sure to ask for our Sothern Host, Trevor – his tours are to die for!
