Margaret Mitchell published Gone With The Wind as a novel in 1936 and claimed the best-selling title in both 1936 and 1937. Gone With The Wind was first released on film in 1939 by Warner Bros. with a star-studded premiere event at none other than — you guessed it — The Georgian Terrace! The event was held at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, and we can almost picture Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh swaying to the music playing that night.
If you’re in the Atlanta area and get to catch the comeback premiere of this age-old classic, stop by the Georgian Terrace to experience the legacy that continues to thrive! Stop by Livingston Restaurant & Bar or Edgar’s Proof & Provision to grab a delicious Southern meal and a “Frankly My Dear” cocktail handcrafted by one of our mixologists — Clark and Vivien would insist!
