Part & Parcel and Edgar’s Hermano among Houston’s top restaurants

Have y’all heard the news? Houstonia Magazine has released their 2016 list of the top 100 restaurants in Houston, and The Whitehall has not one, but two spots on the list.  Both Part & Parcel and Edgar’s Hermano made the cut, thanks largely to the innovative talent of Chef Sylvia Couvarrubias, who got her own shoutout on the Houstonia list as 2016’s Best Chef Discovery.

Not surprisingly, Houstonia had some much deserved words of praise for Chef Couvarrubias:

Cajun crawfish queso, short rib tamales with Bourbon barbecue sauce, mac ‘n’ cheese-stuffed fried chicken with Dr Pepper-bacon jam—what mad scientist of modern fusion cuisine constructed such a menu? That would be Sylvia Covarrubias, native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Southern-Tex-Mexican specialist, who’s quietly plied her trade in Houston hotel kitchens since 1978.
