Meet Kolin, Your Sotherly Host in Savannah!

Meet Kolin, your Sotherly Host at The DeSoto in Savannah, Georgia!  Kolin has lived in the Hostess City for over nine years, so we think it’s safe to say that he’s a certified expert at this point.

In the spirit of true Southern hospitality, Kolin’s primary goal as Sotherly Host is to make sure The DeSoto feels like a home-away-from-home for anyone who walks through the doors. He loves being able to welcome guests to the property after a long day of travel and get them settled in and comfortable with a cold beverage and a warm hug. Additionally, he likes that his role lets him meet lots of new faces and watch as they explore and subsequently fall in love with Savannah just as he did nearly a decade ago.

In his free time, Kolin loves strolling around Savannah with an iced coffee, taking in the sights and sounds of the city while also enjoying the company of the people around him. When he’s not out and about, you’ll find him at home putting his pastry and culinary arts degree to good use by cooking and entertaining for friends. And on the rare occasions when he doesn’t feel like cooking, you can find him noshing at his favorite restaurant, Chive Sea Bar and Lounge, or ordering the chicken and waffles with praline syrup from Edgar’s Proof & Provision. (If a pastry chef recommends the waffles, you know they must be good!)

Kolin has had the pleasure of meeting a number of interesting guests during his tenure as Sotherly Host, but his favorites have to be a couple that returned to The DeSoto for their 60th wedding anniversary after having met at the hotel in the 1950’s and married there in 1958. Much to his pleasure, the couple was happy to report that The DeSoto was just as charming as ever.

Make sure to visit Kolin at The DeSoto during your next visit to Savannah! He’ll get you settled in with a Cucumber Spritz and make sure your stay is full of Southern comfort and Savannah charm.
