The North Carolina Azalea Festival, one of North Carolina’s oldest and biggest events, takes place each April in Wilmington, NC, which is certified by the Azalea Society of America as an official “Azalea City.” Each year, the Festival celebrates the quintessentially Southern flower with a multi-day celebration featuring food, fun, and pageantry at it’s finest, including fireworks shows, parades, and the coronation of Queen Azalea and her court.
